Hi Anthony,

The Payroll Tax and Salaries & Wages modules are currently included in the Generic Financial Model dynamic templates when either chart of accounts 3, 4 or 6 are selected when creating a new financial model.

You can insert them into any financial model with a compatible time series module, but given that the links in and out of these modules need to be taken into account in the financial statements and many other parts of the model, it's best to start with a dynamic template that includes these modules rather than edit/customize one that doesn't.

This thread highlights the importance of starting with the most suitable dynamic template, which is why it's the very first step in the Getting Started section of the Modano resources.

If you've already built a financial model without these modules, and would now like to include them in your model, I'd recommend requesting support from Modano as it's not a simple process. Modano makes it much quicker and easier than without Modano, but in either case you really need to understand all the linkages between these modules and other parts of your financial model.

Is it possible to change a model to use the Payroll Tax and Salaries & Wages module if the model had originally been setup as Chart of Accounts #1?

Thanks

Yes it is Cheyne, you can always customize anything in your modular workbooks, but you'll need to understand how payroll tax flows through a model.

The best way to do this is to open a dynamic template containing payroll tax (e.g. one based on Chart Of Accounts 3, 4 or 6) and then load the Project Manager (Build tab, Project Manager) and look at the links in and out of the Payroll Tax module. I've done this below for an annual forecast-only dynamic template based on Chart of Accounts 3, but bear in mind that these links will differ in an historical & forecast model:

If this gets too hard you can always buy some support credits and ask one of the Modano team members to walk you through it.
