Was curious if you had any intentions on adding these in?

Looking back at some old posts, it seems there was intention, just checking in on it. Thx.

Hi Michael,

We help a lot of our users build M&A and LBO models, using our Generic Financial Model libraries as a foundation and then customizing them. We simply haven't yet packaged up M&A and LBO modules into libraries and included them in the system yet.

Our content library development plan is a layered one - i.e. we believe that each library should build on existing libraries rather than be standalone. This approach minimizes relearning requirements and results in the ability to easily add layers to any model to make it multi-purpose. For example, with our existing libraries, you can add a budget to any monthly historical & forecast model to use it for budget variance analysis, then add scenario analysis for strategic decision making, then insert a DCF valuation, before adding ratios analysis for a debt refinancing.

This layered development approach has slowed our release of new libraries, but we believe that in the long run it will be a key factor in Modano becoming the world's most robust and versatile modular deals modeling platform.

In the interim, you can speak with our Services team if/when you require an LBO or M&A model, and they can share with you some knowledge (and even some modules we've developed) to build your model very efficiently. The quickest way to get started is by completing our Build Me A Model form: www.modano.com/build_me_a_model

We'll be announcing the release of each new library via our newsletter as we release them. At the top of our development list is:

  1. Consolidations
  2. LBO
  3. M&A
  4. Project Finance

And irrespective of what anyone might say these libraries all share common characteristics and are highly amendable to being released via a linear layered development cycle.

Watch this space. M.
