Add Sensitivity Factors to Dashboards

Another question that came through support recently: How can I add a sensitivity factor to a dashboard, so that the CFO can see how sensitive the analysis is to changes in XYZ.

There are a couple of ways to approach this.

One approach is to build the sensitivity factors into the dashboard, add links out and link into the relevant modules. This is the approach taken in the DCF Valuation example model.

CFO Dashboards

Hi Team.

This content is aimed at reporting for CFOs, key stakeholders and decision-makers.

The aim of a CFO Dashboard is to provide a clear single location where senior stakeholders can pull critical business levers (assumptions) and instantly assess the impact (presentation outputs). Within a larger, more expansive planning model, senior staff are unlikely to have the time / desire to scroll through tabs looking for assumptions and then their impacts. A CFO Dashboard is the perfect solution.

Panel Board

Thought I'd drop this in to the forum for people to have a play with. Particularly useful for people who are building models for clients.

This is a Panel Board. It's a landscape / A3 / M-HF / print-ready dashboad that can be customised really quickly.

There are two main areas to it. The dashboard piece looks like this at first:

The second components has two parts to it.

Stretching out Dashboards

With clients working with the monthly content, we often get asked how to take something like the Financial Summary and stretch it out to an additional 12 months.

There's often no need to do this - it involves painful chart work, print settings, someone needs an annual total, etc.

Dashboard Scoping

Quick note. Thought I'd drop this into the forum for those with more client-facing roles.

The attached file contains a range of blank, print-ready dashboards.

When scoping dashboards with clients, I typically print all of these off and then have the client scribble out what they want to see on the paper copies. Expedites the process and a simple way of getting the client to structure their dashboards in a format that's easier to then develop in line with.

Cheers. J.
