Wealth and Asset Performance Reports using Consolidated Financials (historicals) Modano method.

Hello Forum Members,

I have an assignment to produce a consolidated private wealth/asset performance report (historical annuals).

While I currently use some other tools such as Excel and PowerBI to consolidate and present the information, my board seem to be impressed with Modano reports and I would like to leverage the consolidated module or wealth planning module to get this report done on an annual basis. I would appreciate your support on this as well. I believe I have to create new modules to get this done.

We have some points to consider before consolidating.

Currencies

  • Multiple currencies of 11-12 currencies with closing fx spot rates and average fx rates to translate direct liquid assets and other income/gains/losses generated as at financial closing.
  • Purpose is to convert all cash and cash equivalents in these various currencies into USD (our global currency) at closing financial date and perhaps present also the % out of all values. similar to Revenue Category 1 % of Total Revenue, etc.

Asset Type

  • We have a hierarchy of Asset Type
    • Cash Assets
    • Cash Equivalents
    • Tangible Assets
    • Intangible Assets
  • Sub categories of the above could be
    • Bank 1 - cash balances
    • Bank 2 - fixed deposits
    • Real Estate
    • Cars
    • etc

Region

  • Region (such as Eurasia, MENA, Western Europe, Central Europe)
  • Continent
  • Countries

If the stakeholders are able to have the typical Modano style reports and summaries portraying performance annually by currencies, regions, asset types independently and consolidated would be appreciated. This could be a Modano default module as well helping Asset & Portfolio Managers simplifying their reporting package.

Perhaps except for the currency conversions the rest are category hierarchies to be created to analyze performance. Nevertheless, looking forward for your opinion.

Thank You.

Hi Sajid,

This is definitely something you could automate using Modano, but it's quite bespoke and not something you'll find in the Modano financial modeling content libraries.

This forum is really designed for the sharing and exchange of general ideals and modeling approaches, whereas your post looks more like the initial scoping of quite a bespoke model.

You may find someone in the Modano Community can help you with this, but I would suggest one of 2 approaches:

  1. If you're wanting support in this forum, starting building your model yourself and upload it as you come across specific challenges you'd like resolving, and someone might be willing to help you; or
  2. Submit Modano's Model Build Request Form (www.modano.com/model_build_request) and get a quote from our Services team.

Best regards,
