Standardized Naming Conventions

Does anyone know if I can I create my own standardized naming conventions so that the auto prefix tool uses my naming convention and not the standard Modano convention? What about for the tab names?

Hi Monica,

Sorry for the seriously-belated reply, but here goes:

  1. Modano uses systemized range naming prefixes to ensure that range names within modules never conflict even after they are re-inserted, duplicated, mirrored, etc. This simply means that range names within modules always contain their prefix - e.g. 'Rev_' for a revenue module. You can change these prefixes for modules by editing module properties in the Project Manager, but they will always appear in range names as 'Prefix_', and this cannot be changed. This is designed to support the most common range naming convention of 'Xxx_Xxx_Xxx'.
  2. Sheet tab names can be entered any way you like, you just need to switch off the auto-underscoring and auto-suffix options if you don't want these things automated. Also, the next upgrade of Modano significantly simplifies the sheet naming process so you can pretty much do whatever you want.

I hope this helps!
