Split Component?

Is there a way of splitting a component?

I need to add Categories Layout Section to a section in the middle of a large component and don't want it to be all the way at the bottom of the sheet.

As far as I can tell and given that I can't cut and paste between modules the only other option I have is to rebuild all current calculations. Any help or at least confirmation that there is no way around the rebuild option would be much appreciated.

You can't currently cut and paste between modules (or even module components), but you can cut and paste within module components, including from one section to another.

Therefore, you can effectively insert a categories layout section into the middle of an existing section as follows:

  1. Add a new categories layout section to the bottom of the module component (Build tab, Section menu, Insert Categories Layout Section).
  2. Add a new (non-categories layout) section below the newly-added categories layout section (Build tab, Section menu, Insert Below).
  3. Cut the entire rows from the section above the newly-inserted categories layout section and paste them into the new non-categories layout section.*
  4. Delete the now empty rows from the section above the newly-inserted categories layout section.

* Note that if the module component is not the last module component on the sheet, you will need to insert enough rows into the newly added non-categories layout section to hold the cut and pasted rows before cutting and pasting them into the newly-added non-categories layout section.

Let me know if I've missed something. M.
