Short Term Cash Forecast ONLY

The Weekly Historic & Forecast Modules are an extremely valuable addition to the module library.

What if a client only wishes to have a forecast financial statements with an Opening Balance Sheet?

the difference is the Historic Income Statement.

Are there weekly forecast only modules

Hi Nick,

We discussed building a forecast-only weekly library but decided against it given that it would be out of date within days of using it build a model. Also, as you note, you can easily use the weekly, historical & forecast library and simply set the time series assumptions to include 1 historical period and use the historical balance sheet as an opening balance sheet. You'd really need to also put in 1 week of historical income statement data, which usually wouldn't be a problem if you're comfortable forecasting weekly.

One addition we are developing to the weekly, historical & forecast library is invoice-based debtors and creditors modules, so that the aged receivables and payable of the business can be imported and used for invoice/bill-specific receipts/payments forecasting. For many businesses in dire cash flow situations this is key functionality, and while our current libraries can be hacked to achieve this outcome, but we want modules that make it very easy.

As you know, this stuff is all just a matter of time and resources, and as long as we keep progressing we'll get there at some stage soon.

Hey Mike,

Here's something we're working on that might be what you're noting RE the invoice / contact - based debtors and creditors module. We had the same problem and pulled this together to drop into CoA6 content. We've only done M-H+F for now.

Hi Mike, thank you for the prompt response. I was going to go with the standard Historic Forecast Weekly modules and limit the Historic Income Statement to 1 week, in effect the 1st week Revenue & Cost forecast is entered as historic assumptions (week 1 only).

With companies needing to demonstrate going concern or Turnaround, the 13 week forecast model should grow in demand.

I expect that CFO's will be under pressure for a while and this could result in the need for more custom modules generated from paid support.

I will see how far the client wants to take the customisation of say Debtors e.g.  % recovery profiles, versus manipulating debtor days.

Thanks again Mike and stay safe
