I have recently discovered that on one of my clients, which use an embedded document management system in for Excel, that Modano doesnt activate when opening a modular workbook.
It's like Modano doesnt even pickup that the file is a Modular workbook and the model is completely locked as if I email it to someone without Modano.
What is the best way around this issue?

Hi Lance,
Document management systems can be very intrusive, as they usually try to control the opening and saving of Excel workbooks, which can get in the way of Modano loading the modular data within them when they've been built using Modano.
The best workaround when this happens is to open and save modular workbooks via the Modano tab, which ensures that the document management system doesn't make a mess of things.
Opening Files
To open files and ensure that Modano loads them properly, use the Modano tab, Modular Workbooks group, Open menu, From File menu item:

To save files and ensure that Modano saves them properly, use the Modano tab, Modular Workbooks group, Workbook menu, Save and Save As menu items:
