Cost of Goods Variable Drivers Module Issues

Anyone having issues with the cost of goods sold (variable drivers) module?

Anytime I add the module, there aren't any categories rows?

Hi Ryan,

The variable drivers modules consist of (1) a header module and (2) category modules which sit below the header module and each contain 1 category of data.

For example, for cost of goods sold, the header module will be called something like Cost of Goods Sold (Variable Drivers), while the category modules will each be called something like Cost of Goods Sold Category (Margins, Total Revenue).

You can see a full listing of the driver category modules available for cost of goods sold by clicking on any cell within any existing cost of goods sold driver category, right-clicking the mouse, then selecting Change Driver, as per below:

Based on the image you've supplied, it looks like you've inserted a 2nd Cost of Goods Sold (Variable Drivers) module into your module, but not yet inserted any cost of goods sold category modules for this header module.

If you're wanting multiple cost of goods sold sections in your model, this is OK, otherwise you just need to add categories to the existing cost of goods sold area in your model...

To keep this 2nd cost of goods sold module, you'll need to insert cost of goods sold category modules to go within it, and do so in Developer mode using the Advanced Insert method to insert the modules (Modano tab, Insert menu, Advanced Insert) so you can control where the 1st cost of goods sold category module components are placed.

This is quite unusual and messy though, so unless you need multiple cost of goods sold sections I'd keep all categories below the existing Cost of Goods Sold (Variable Drivers) header module.

If you need more help please request support via the Support section of your Modano account.
